I notice something, then I want to know how it works.
That's how I ended up building AI agents at Gradstack, solving security challenges, modelling earthquakes, and reading about quantum computing. The camera comes from the same habit.
Look closer
A Nepali saying about attention: the same piece of wood is sandalwood to someone who knows what they're looking at, and a tool handle to someone who doesn't. Nepal is full of work made to reward a close look. The Gurkha Gallery is named for my roots there.
जान्नेलाई श्रीखण्ड, नजान्नेलाई खुर्पाको बिँड।- Paubha
- Newar devotional painting on cotton, made in the Kathmandu Valley since at least the 14th century with hand-ground mineral pigments.
- Lokta paper
- Made by hand from the inner bark of Daphne shrubs, which grow back after the harvest. The pulp is spread on frames and dried in the sun.
- Peacock Window
- A 15th-century carved window in Bhaktapur. Step close and the bird's fanned tail turns out to be the lattice itself.
- Dhaka
- Hand-woven inlay cloth, best known in the dhaka topi. Because it is woven by hand, no two pieces come out quite the same.
